Evolution of human polygenic traits

There is growing evidence that the evolution of human polygenic traits follow trait-specific patterns based on how selection shapes such traits in human populations.

We have developed EvoPolyGen, which builds upon the GWAS ATLAS, with the primary goal of facilitating hypothesis generation in the field of human polygenic trait evolution. We introduce two key metrics that offer insights into how various genes associated with polygenic traits may be influenced by selection:

  • Correlation between the association of human genes with polygenic traits and their expression level (R_exp)
  • Correlation between the association of human genes with polygenic traits and their evolutionary rate (R_rate).

For comprehensive details on these analyses, please refer to our documentation page.
Users can explore the positioning of different human polygenic traits within the correlation diagram below, and further investigate the expression level and evolutionary rate of the genes associated with each trait on the specific trait pages.
